Inclusion rule. A service is listed if it accepted or accepts user-submitted URLs with user-supplied metadata, and either appears on the 2007 roster captured at this address or has a published release in the last 24 months or a documented shutdown. Nothing is listed or omitted for any other reason, and no placement is or ever will be paid for.

Re-check cadence. Every row carries the date its status was last checked. Rows are re-checked and re-stamped twice a year, and every re-stamp is recorded at Changes, which has its own feed. A row whose checked date is more than a year old should be read as stale.

This table is the single source. There is no CSV and no JSON copy to fall out of step with it; the machine-readable data lives in the markup, as data-slug, data-status, data-confidence and data-checked attributes on every row. Any disagreement between this table and an article is a correction, and is logged at Corrections.

Confidence is part of the fact. A row graded low reads could not be verified in full, rather than carrying a guess. That is not an omission; see the unverified list for the claims this publication declines to assert and why.

Confidence

Carried straight from the sourced record: high where a primary or contemporaneous source states it, medium where a single reliable secondary source does, low where neither was found.

First seen

A founding or launch year where one is sourced. Where it reads could not be verified, no reliable founding date was found. Earliest Internet Archive captures were collected for several of these names and are not founding dates — they record when a domain was crawled, not when a service launched — so they are not printed in this column.
