Corrections

Every correction, with its date and a plain statement of what was wrong. Nothing is deleted and nothing is quietly rewritten.

A correction is appended to the article it concerns, with its own date, and listed here. There is no distinction between a correction, a clarification and an editor’s note — a reader should not have to work out which category a publication has decided its error belongs to. Spelling and typography are fixed silently.

Changes to a Ledger row’s status or checked date are not corrections: they are the Ledger working as intended, and they are recorded at Changes. A Ledger row that was wrong is a correction and appears here.

Reporting one

A correction that names a dated primary document can be acted on immediately. See Contact, which also explains why no address is published yet and why publishing one that bounced would be worse than publishing none.
